A little history:
In order to replace the obsolete M 131.1 series wagons, two-axle diesel multiple units, bearing the series designation M 152.0, were acquired from Czechoslovak Railways. These vehicles, introduced in series from 1975, were powered by an in-line six-cylinder engine rated at 155 kW and could reach a maximum speed of 80 km/h. Inside these units, 56 seats were available for passengers.
After 1 January 1993, when Czechoslovakia was divided into two successor states, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, these vehicles were divided between the newly created national railways, CD and ZSR. Since December 2004, the units in Slovakia have formed part of the inventory of ZSR's successor company, ZSSK.
