A little touch of history:
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk, an American shipborne light bomber developed in the 1950s, was distinguished by its compact design ideal for aircraft carriers. Its short delta wing eliminated the need for a wing folding mechanism. The Pratt & Whitney J52 turbojet engine, powered by two air intakes located at the top of the fuselage, propelled the aircraft to an impressive speed of 1,170 km/h. Internal armament included two 20 mm cannons, while the pylons under the wings and fuselage offered the versatility to accommodate air-to-ground and air-to-air missiles, rocket baskets, smooth-bore bombs and additional fuel tanks. The A-4 played a crucial role during the Vietnam War, being used extensively by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, as well as allied forces such as Australia, New Zealand, Kuwait and Israel.
