A little bit of history:
The F-15A/C Eagle was developed in the 1970s to provide the U.S. Air Force with an advanced, high-performance fighter. From the two-seat B/D version, the F-15E Strike Eagle all-weather fighter-bomber was developed, specifically designed for ground attack, bombing and interdiction missions. It was integrated into the USAF in the late 1980s, while retaining the F-15's original features, such as its twin tail fins and robust mid-wing. The two-seater cockpit has a rear seat occupied by the WSO, the weapon systems officer responsible for navigation, target tracking and the use of electronic countermeasures. This model was deployed in a variety of operations, including the Desert Shield and Desert Storm campaigns in the early 1990s.
The kit includes a striking decal sheet offering a choice of six aircraft from the 48th Tactical Fighter Wing based at Lakenheath in the UK. All of these aircraft have the distinction of having taken part in Operation Inherent Resolve in 2020 and proudly display nose art depicting "naughty villains" motifs.
