A little touch of history:
The Hawker Hurricane occupied the position of predominant fighter of the British Royal Air Force at the beginning of the Second World War. It played a crucial role in the RAF's victory in the Battle of Britain in 1940. Thereafter, although gradually eclipsed by the Spitfire, reputed to be more modern and capable, the Hurricane continued to serve in ground attack and close support missions.
This particular version of the Hurricane, equipped with four 20mm cannons in place of the traditional 7.7mm machine guns, enhanced its versatility. Even after relinquishing its place as a primary fighter, the Hurricane Mk.IIC found new life as a night fighter, demonstrating its remarkable adaptation to a variety of roles during its active service.
