A little history:
The Jaguar ground attack aircraft came into being in the 1960s thanks to a collaboration between the French and British aviation industries. Mainly used by the French Air Force and the RAF, the latter operated it until the early 2000s, demonstrating its exceptional longevity and operational efficiency. Within the RAF, the Jaguar was mobilised for a variety of often complex missions in various theatres of operations, notably in the Balkans and Iraq.
The two-seat trainer version, the T.2, was developed for the operational conversion of British pilots. Although it retained ground attack and close support capabilities, it reduced to a single 30mm gun compared with the single-seat version. This has not compromised its performance, illustrating the exceptional versatility of this variant dedicated to training.
