A little touch of history:
The 313rd Acrobatic Training Group of the Italian Military Air Force, better known as the "Frecce Tricolori", is based at Rivolto Airport, near Udine. Officially founded in 1961, the squadron has amalgamated the heritage of other aerobatic patrols organised at Squadron level to represent the skills of the national air force's pilots, both at home and abroad. Initially equipped with the Canadair CL-13 "Sabre", the team later adopted the Fiat G.91. In the 1980s, it moved on to the Aermacchi MB 339 A/PAN, forming the world's largest aerobatic team, comprising nine aircraft and one soloist. In honour of the 60th anniversary of the founding of PAN in 2021, the MB 339s have been used with commemorative liveries evoking the mythical acrobatic patrols of the 1950s within the various Wings.
