The reception building has an interesting layout that is typical of railway buildings in the region: the upper part of the building, perpendicular to the platform, in which the staff flat is also located, and the lower part of the building, which is arranged along the platform, with the adjoining waiting room. The structure of the plastered walls is depicted realistically. The gable end of the roof is made of real wood. The tiled roof with its large overhang is prototypical in terms of look and feel. The gutters, downpipes and insulators for the power supply are delicately designed. There is a small wooden shed at the rear as an extension. Other real wood features include doors, lattice windows and folding shutters. With a wooden fence as a platform barrier. All timber elements already coloured.

The Rothenstadt station figurine set has been made from a contemporary 1/2 era photograph and therefore depicts original characters from the historic station area. It includes a photographer with a plate camera on a wooden tripod, two women, a mother with her child and a railway official. The characters are detailed and fully painted.
