The history of OCEM carriages:
OCEM is the Office centrale d'études du matériel de chemin de fer. OCEM's Rivets Apparents (RA) carriages are a large series of passenger carriages. They were designed to standardise the rolling stock used by the French railways. In particular, the irons, doors, couplers and brakes were brought up to standard. There are several sub-series, such as the B9, a second-class carriage, and the BD4. Different versions exist, depending on which railway company ordered the models. The SNCF livery has a green roof and a yellow SCNF logo on the sides. These passenger carriages, built between 1924 and 1940, were used on the main lines and were withdrawn from circulation at the beginning of the 1980s.
