A little history :
The "Oppeln" wagon was manufactured in large quantities from 1936, as a DR (Deutsche Reichsbahn) boxcar.
With the low overhang of the body and the rigidity of the underframe, a quiet, healthy ride was achieved, allowing a maximum permissible speed of 90 km/h to be set.
After the Second World War, these wagons were scattered all over Europe, and were partially rebuilt. Some of these wagons were incorporated into the recently founded "Parc Europe".1600 wagons or so were incorporated into the SNCF fleet as war damage and gradually underwent modifications including French SKF type axleboxes.
The "G-Nordhausen" range was built in large quantities after the Second World War by the DR
