A little touch of history:
The "Oppeln" carriage, originally designed as a Deutsche Reichsbahn boxcar from 1936, was produced extensively. Thanks to the design of its body with a low overhang and the rigidity of its chassis, it offered a stable and quiet ride, enabling a maximum speed of 90 km/h to be reached.
After the Second World War, these wagons were scattered across Europe and partially rebuilt. Some were incorporated into the recently created "Parc Europe". Around 1600 wagons were incorporated into the SNCF fleet as war damage, gradually undergoing modifications, including the installation of SKF-type axleboxes.
The "G-Nordhausen" range was mass-produced by the Deutsche Reichsbahn after the Second World War.
