Models of platform shelters built by the Compagnie des chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée to shelter passengers on the tracks opposite the stations.
In days gone by, subways did not exist. Passengers who had to catch a train on the track opposite the station crossed the tracks and waited in platform shelters.
These platform shelters consist of a central section, forming a waiting area, with benches. On either side are rooms reserved for railway staff (often used as a lamp room). These rooms are closed to the public by doors.
One side façade of the shelters has a window. The side facades are interchangeable. Note: The figures shown in the photos are not included.
