A little history about the Gaston Moyse company:
It began building diesel lcotracteurs from 1921/1922. It was located in La Courneuve, and for several years supplied many sites in Lorraine and the North of France with a large number of its machines. Of course, it was during the period of reconstruction after the Second World War that the company was able to find a good niche, supplying steelworks in particular. Their locomotives, renowned for their extreme robustness, are therefore omnipresent in the world of model railways. Some examples can still be found built in the 1930s.
According to rumours, the first engine built was the Moyse 5Ta or "Horned Beast". However, these were not produced until the 1930s, by which time the Moyse firm had already produced a good number of locotractors. These Moyse 5Ta were nicknamed horned beasts because of their particular appearance.
To find out more about the MOYSE TDE 32:
The TDEs were built by the firm MOYSE between the 1930s and 1960s. They were characterised by their rounded engine bonnets and a driver's cab with "visors" above the front windows. Four versions of the TDE saw the light of day: the 36, 62, 20 and 10. This last version, the lightest, was characterised by the absence of its rear bonnet with an optional capstan, as were the Berliet locotractors.
