A little history:

The history of the Nissan car brand begins with the foundation of the "Kaishinsha Motorcar Works" company by Masujiro Hashimoto in Tokyo in 1911. In 1914, the first car, named "DAT" after the initials of investors Kenjio Den, Rokuro Aoyama and Aketaro Takeuchi, was launched. However, the lack of demand for this top-of-the-range product prompted the company to turn to the production of trucks for the Imperial Japanese Army in 1918, under the name "Kwaishinsha Motorcar Co."

Over the years, the company underwent several name changes and entered into collaborations with other companies. In 1934, Nihon Sangyo became the majority shareholder at the general meeting, and the company was renamed Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Throughout its eventful history, Nissan has gone through various periods, including wartime production between 1936 and 1945, post-war reconstruction from 1946 to 1949, licensed production and overseas expansion from 1950 to 1979, as well as ups and downs in the 1980s and 1990s, including a partnership alliance with Renault in 1999 and the acquisition of Volvo Truck AB in 2006. The company has also faced major challenges, such as severe damage to production plants caused by an earthquake in Japan in 2011.

In 2015, before merging with Mitsubishi in 2016, Nissan unveils the fourth generation of its Nissan NP300 Navara pick-up (known as the 'Frontier'). This new generation is introduced to the European market with redesigned styling to look more like an SUV, offering increased comfort for everyday and family use. Powered by a 2.3-litre diesel engine, the Navara offers customers two transmission options: a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed automatic gearbox. Subsequently, corresponding versions of the Navara are offered by Nissan partners Renault (Alaskan) and Mercedes-Benz (X-Class) from 2017. Unfortunately, despite an update presented in November 2020, the revised version of the Navara ceases to be available in Europe due to the closure of the Barcelona plant in 2021.
