Discover the new collection of postal carriages designed by the manufacturer REE Models on our website.
These miniature models in HO scale: 1/87, will be ideal for completing your rail network.
History of the model:
The postal van was put into service to transport various parcels and mail around the world. In France there are two types of postal vehicles:
- The "ambulants" intended for the transport and sorting of mail.
- The "allèges postales" intended for the transport of dispatches (official or private communication).
As these vans were generally used with passenger carriages, they were later given the name "postal carriages".
In addition, the OCEM carriages were manufactured by the Office central d'études de matériel de chemins de fer (OCEM) to make long journeys on the railways. They were distributed for many railway companies, including the SNCF.
To our great delight, model railway manufacturer REE Modèles, plans to design these postal cars in HO: 1/87 scale to complement our trains on our model train network.
