1972 with the entry into service of the Deh 4/4 51-55 rack baggage car, the modernisation and, above all, rationalisation of FO regional traffic began. In addition to the carriages, the second-class carriages B 4251-4258 and the control carriage ABt 4151-4154 were acquired in 1971/72 to form four-part shuttle trains.
For the former multiple units BDeh 2/4 41-45, the four control carriages ABt 4191-4194 with shortened first-class compartments were put into service compared with the other control carriages. The so-called "short journey" was used at times of low traffic or at the edge of the day. After the Series 40 cars were discontinued in 1993 and 2000/2001, ABt 4191-4194 control cars were also carried on regional trains as first / second class cars if required. In the mid-1990s, the driver's cab bellows were removed and the two ABt 4191-4192 control cars were renamed Bt 4291-4292 second class cars. MGB currently only has ABt 4193 as a reserve vehicle. Execution of the model.
