LS MODELS offers the UIC-X ABm RIC car from the Swiss company SBB/CFF, livery "Bertani Servizi Ferroviari" in HO 1/87th scale, under reference 97020.
The history of the real model:
As early as 1964, SBB ordered UIC-X type coaches for international trains. There were a total of 40 Am, 40 ABm, 320 Bm, 50 Bcm couchette cars and 20 Dms vans. the last of these were built in 1977.
In 1993, 12 Bm of the 12-compartment series were converted e, sleeperette carriages for night trains; later they were used as 1st class carriages on day trains. Most of the Bm in the 11-compartment series were converted into Bpm centre aisle coaches, with an interior derived from the VU IV. There are plans to modernise them from 2010 and to install air conditioning. Since 1998, 32 Am have been converted into companion coaches for HUPAC's rolling road trains and 3 ABm for Bertani's.
