A little history:
From 1970, the Deutsche Reichsbahn acquired type Y/B 70 passenger carriages, perfected by the UIC. These compartment wagons were designed for express train traffic. They were widely used until the 1980s, particularly on transit trains between Berlin and West Germany, as well as on other international long-distance trains. They were also frequently seen in West Germany on interzone trains.
