Based on the standard EW1 coach with bellows and ABDe4/8 driver's cab, Schweizerische Waggonfabrik Schlieren (SWS) delivered six Bt téminus coaches to BLS in 1963.
Since 2005, four of these low-temperature wagons have been converted for use on car transport trains. Among other things, they were given a motorbike compartment. After conversion, the cars were registered with BLS as BDt 946-949. Initially, the control cars still had the blue/beige colour scheme, which gave way to shaded grey and green from 2007.
