This model train by LS Models is an HO-scale reproduction of an iconic railway vehicle from the 70s and 80s in Switzerland. It appears under the reference LS472011 in the catalogue of the modelling brand. This refined model finely reproduces a UIC-X Bm passenger car. This standard marked its era. Type X express coaches appeared in 1961 at the instigation of the International Union of Railways (UIC). This prototype was inspired by the long passenger carriages designed by the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) after the Second World War.
Switzerland ordered a large number of UIC-X vehicles from the 1960s onwards. This is a second-class travel coach with 11 compartments. This green livery with a silver roof still bears the former logo of the Swiss Railway. The vehicle's full designation is UIC-X Bm. In 1972, SBB ordered 220 examples with the registration numbers 85 21-70 000 and 85 21-70 219. This is number 85.
