This modèle réduitis amodélism accessory from LS Models (référence LS472007). It reproduces an HO scale UIC-X Bm passenger carriage operated by the Swiss Federal Railways. This type of vehicle was a very common standard in the 70s and 80s in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The elongated shape of these express train carriages was reminiscent of the cars developed by Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) after the Second World War. The Swiss UIC-X cars were fitted with Schliere bogies, which enabled speeds of up to 160 km/h to be achieved. Switzerland ordered almost 400 railway vehicles of this type, including 320 second-class vehicles.
Schliere's UIC-X cars were the first of their kind in Switzerland.
This design was inspired by a UIC-X passenger carriage dating from the 1980s and featuring the new SBB logo, the characteristic green colour of Switzerland's state railway and a light grey bevelled roof. The interior layout of the 12 compartments has been faithfully reproduced.
