The X 2800 series railcars were produced in runs of 119, and delivered on 28 May 1957 to the Carmaux depot (Tarn) for the SNCF company. This was the most powerful single-box, single-engine railcar of its time, with an engine developing 825 hp. Its longevity remains exemplary, as this model was used for 52 years (1957 - 2009)!
