Presentation of the model:
In 1938, the wagon factory in Uerdingen received a request to develop a tank wagon that was both lightweight and could store a load of 30m^3. By 1939, three prototypes had been produced. Several trials were set up with private FRET companies and the state of economic research which proved conclusive.
That's why in 1941 production of the Uerdinger Baubau 30m^3 began, they designed and marketed approximately 3,700 wagons whose biggest customer was Luftwaffe with around 2,200 models sold to them.
The miniature train manufacturer Brawa designed several models of tank wagons under HO scale: 1/87th.
