Under reference JOUEF 4152, here is a nice lot of 3 passenger carriages type RIB 70 from the SNCF, in their original grey livery with red doors, scale HO 1/87th and period IV - V.
A little history:
With the 25 kV electrification of the suburban lines to the north and east of Paris, there were only 4 stainless steel prototype trains left, whose entry into service was delayed due to a lack of completed motorisation.
At the end of 1960, the SNCF experimented with the use of these prototypes pulled by a BB 16500 locomotive. This trial was entirely satisfactory, and so the "Rames Inox Banlieue" was born.
While the RIB type 62 and type 70 trainsets were mainly used in the Paris region at 25 kV in trainsets of 4 (east, north) or 7 (St-Lazare) cars, later versions of the RIB type 76 and RIO trainsets ordered by regions (NPDC, Alsace, PACA) were adapted to different traction modes (dual current, single-phase-diesel, dual current-diesel) and to extend their field of use to the outskirts and around regional metropolises
