This set of miniature wagons is a product of the railroad modelling brand Hobbytrain (référence 24201). It contains two perfectly reproduced SBB K2 Gklm freight wagons in N scale.
Prior to the creation of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) in 1903, the major private railway companies of the time agreed to standardise their rolling stock. For freight transport, this resulted in the acquisition in 1902 of type K2 boxcars with the same characteristics. These were relatively small rail vehicles, measuring 7.10m in length. They weighed 12.5 tonnes and had a volume of up to 44 m2. The SBB revisited these freight wagons on numerous occasions, so that this towed equipment remained in service long after the Second World War. These models reproduce these wagons as they were between 1945 and 1970.
