Thismaterial towed is a type of unified wagon that was very common in Europe at the beginning of the 20th century, and even up to the 1980s. In fact, they first appeared in Switzerland before the creation of CFF, the state-owned railway company, which arose from the nationalisation of several private transport companies in 1903. In 1902, these companies acquired their first fleet of K2 wagons in order to unify their fleet of vehicles. The type K3 wagons are the next generation. These two families were characterised by their modest dimensions, not exceeding 7m in length and weighing just over 12 tonnes. They had a loading capacity of 40 m3. The Swiss Federal Railways upgraded these wagons over time. This detailed model shows how they functioned after the Second World War.
