This pack of two SBB carriages is indexed under reference number 24251 in the Hobbytrain catalogue. It perfectly replicates the N scale of two emblematic Swiss rail vehicles. These models perfectly recreate the lines of these K3 type freight wagons in the IV model.
The type K3 wagons are unié type vehicles. They were acquired by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) in 1913. At the time, this move reflected the desire of the rail transport sector to standardise rolling stock. As early as 1902, even before the creation of SBB, the private rail companies operating on the Swiss network had initiated this trend by acquiring K2 wagons. These had the same characteristics as the K3s. They were small wooden wagons of modest size. They were just over 7m long and weighed no more than 13 tonnes. Equipped with 2 axles, this rolling stock "puncture-proof" has truly lived through the 20th century.
These Hobbytrain-branded N-scale replicas are inspired by the way these carriages looked in 1970. The first car is fitted with a brakeman's cab and the second with a brakeman's platform. Both cars have an aluminium door and solid wheels.
