ThisN scale railcar is a product of the brand Hobbytrain (référence 24252). It reproduces a train carriage K3 Gms, a type of unified carriage; used by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) at the beginning of the 20th century.
Swiss Railways (SBB) was born out of the nationalisation of several private companies in 1903. These transport companies had established standards to standardise the rolling stock of the country. In 1902, they acquired K2 freight wagons for this purpose. These were the predecessor to the K3 wagons purchased by SBB in 1913. These small freight wagons had the shape of a wooden box with 2 axles. The SBB used them again and again until the 1980s. This N scale model represents a type K3 Gms wagon as it ran in the I-II era.
