This train set contains two HO scale reproductions of tombereau wagons with 4 grey wooden doors. It is offered by REE Modèles under the reference WB-811.
The freight wagons n°TTw 225144 and S 113658 were specifically designed for the transport of various goods within the railway company PLM (Compagnie des chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée). This model of wagon was characterised by its open structure with low sides. It was widely used for loading and unloading bulk materials such as coal, stones, sand and others. To facilitate these operations, the wagon was equipped with four doors, so that railwaymen could easily handle the goods inside. PLM was a railway company of considerable importance in France, active from 1857 to 1938. It then merged with other companies to form the SNCF (Société nationale des chemins de fer français). Throughout its existence, PLM played a crucial role in the development of the French rail network, as well as in the transport of goods and passengers across the country.
