How to install this swing bridge
.
This track accessory can be integrated with a miniature Z scale bucket. It has 8 outlets that can be used to create up to 24 branches using plug-in segments (not included in this pack). The outside diameter of this revolving bridge is 170 mm. The bridge alone measures 132 mm. To install this accessory in the tray of a bucket, please see:
- a 145 mm cut
- a depth of 30 mm to directly connect the câbles
- a depth of 50 mm, if you are using plugs.
How does a turntable work
?
The turntable is a track apparatus that allows locomotives to turn back. In fact, it consists of a tank overhung by an iron bridge that rotates 360 degrees on an axis. In the real world, it is usually located near a rotunda, where railway workers store their rolling stock after shunting. This device is used from the time of the steam train to turn the unidirectional motors in the docks or terminal stations. Originally, the turntables were not motorised and turning was carried out manually. Small in diameter, they could be presented in the form of a plate, which still earns them the nickname "turntable" in railroad circles today.
Optimise the space in your bucket
A swing bridge is also very useful in a rail operating game. When designing a network, the model list is confronted with the problem of space management. The space available quickly becomes a constraint, even a limit. What's more, the electric train enthusiast is often forced to scale down his ambitions by removing tracks from his ideal layout. In this context, this swing bridge is a clever solution for replacing a turning loop and, ultimately, saving space. Placed in a slide, it will make it much easier to put your scénario into practice.
