REE models offers here a beautifulminiature locomotive from the SNCF. It appears under the reference MB143SAC in the brand's catalogue. It is a reproduction of a BB 16000 series locomotive in a three-rail and Digital Sound version. Made up of 330 metal parts, the design of this scaled-down model is very slim. This concrete grey livery, adorned with the SNCF logo and an orange stripe, evokes the style of the 70s. In addition to its appearance, this loco can be used to programme sound effects and enhance the realism of arailway operating game with railway sound effects (coupling, uncoupling, squealing brakes, etc.). This accessory is designed is designed to run on a miniature rail network in HO scale.
The BB 1600 series locomotives ran on the network of the Société nationale des chemins de fer français in the second half of the 20th century. There were 62 in total. In 1970, several machines were transferred to the Paris depot at La Chapelle, including number 16024 reproduced here in HO scale by REE Modèles. These motor cars were fitted with Vuillemin bogies that enabled them to exceed 200 km/h thanks to the principle of total adhesion, with all axles being powered. They are nicknamed BB Jacquemin because of this particular feature. Put into service by the SNCF in the early 1960s, they hauled express trains in the North-East and North-West of France until 2012.
