A little history:
This locomotive is the second 231 H REE after the H8 brought out a few years ago.
Nevers is undoubtedly the great depot of the Bourbonnais line, ideally situated in the middle of it.
In 1955, fourteen 231 H, are committed to the rapids and expresses on Clermont, Moret and on Vierzon and Saincaize.
They regularly pull with the 241 P the Thermal Express train.
