The Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Français CC 72130 diesel locomotive has the following features:
- Currently sporting the "En Voyage" design.
- Equipped with numerous separately-attached parts, some of which are engraved.
- Designed to pull fast trains on non-electrified main lines.
- Equipped with switchable fan wheels.
- The front or rear lights as well as the driver's cab lighting can be activated separately in digital mode.
When it was introduced in 1967, the CC 72000 was recognised as SNCF's most powerful diesel locomotive. Thanks to its diesel-electric motorisation, this series was suited to both high speeds and the transport of heavy loads. For more than 40 years, SNCF used these locomotives for express services such as the Lyon-Marseille or Paris-Basle routes, as well as for the transport of heavy goods.
