A little touch of history:
The T16 and T16.1 steam locomotives were put into service on the Railways of the Kingdom of Prussia (KPEV) between 1906 and 1924. In France, these locomotives were very popular with staff because of their power and adherent weight, and provided invaluable service, particularly in mining depots. Over the course of their careers, these locomotives were "nordified" and improved, with the addition of features such as the "Nord" type smoke box door, a bi-compound pump, and a "T.I.A." treatment. All these machines were integrated by the SNCF and numbered from 2-050 TB 1 to 25. These locomotives were located in the La Plaine, Lens, Béthune, Arras and Valenciennes depots. The T16s were the first to be reformed, and the rest of the series disappeared in 1955.
