If we take into account the consumption of a train network, we see that sometimes we have a shortage of power. This means we need to place one or more boosters.
Here's a table to give you some ideas. Rolling locos without sound.
- Scale N Between 350 mA and 600 mA.
- H0 scale Between 450 mA and 1000 mA.
- Large scales Between 750 mA and 2000 mA.
Rolling locos with LokSound.
- Scale N - H0 Between 450 mA and 1100 mA.
- Large scales Between 1500 mA and 3500 mA.
- Wagon lighting: ca. 50 mA per empole or LED.
Characteristics of the ECoSBoost:
The ECoSBoost is available in 2 variants.
The internal booster of the ECoS is, technical view manufacture identical as the 2 external models.
ECoSBoost 50010 is a 4A booster and is intended for the N, HO or TT scale network. ECoSBoost 50011 is an 8A booster and is intended for network in scale 0, I or G.
WARNING: if you use an 8A booster on your H0 or smaller network and you have a short circuit. This can cause damage to your locos. Each booster heats up. Therefore you should use the booster in a well ventilated area. The booster is protected. After +/- 3.5 sec. The booster comes out of safety mode.
