This scale model is an HO scale reproduction of a PLM tombereau wagon with 4 grey wooden doors. It is offered by REE Modèles under the reference WB-810.
The tombereau wagon n°SL 114099 was specifically designed for freight transport within the PLM railway company (Compagnie des chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée). This type of wagon was characterised by its open structure with low sides. It was widely used for loading and unloading bulk materials such as coal, stones, sand and others. The wagon in question was equipped with several doors to facilitate loading and unloading operations. These doors allowed the railwaymen to easily handle the goods inside the wagon. PLM was a major railway company in France, operating from 1857 to 1938, before merging with other companies to form SNCF (Société nationale des chemins de fer français). During its existence, PLM played a crucial role in the development of the French rail network and in the transport of goods and passengers across the country.
