Presentation of the CC 6500 Electric Locomotive:
The CC 6500 series electric locomotives were put into service on SNCF railway lines. These locomotives were built by the French company Alstom. At the time, these were the most powerful machines, belonging to the "Nez cassés" family. Variants were delivered during the years 1964 to 1999 in France, but also worldwide.
They are derived from the CC 40100 and CC 72000, and use certain elements of these models, such as the bogies and part of their body. Finally, this series also includes the dual-current CC 21000 and the single-phase alternating current CC 14500.
