History of the model:
In 1954, the SNCF railway company wanted to produce diesel-powered locomotives to move away from steam models as quickly as possible.
The CC 65000 locomotives were put into service by the SNCF company on 1 February 1955. They were the first "line" series to be designed with the aim of serving passengers and goods. The series was withdrawn from the rail network between 1981 and 1988, and only 2 models have survived to the present day: CC 65001, which is attached to the Cité du Train in Mulhouse, and CC 65005, which serves Agrivap - Ambert.
This is why the miniature train manufacturer Mistral has reproduced its models in HO scale: 1/87th.
