A little history:
The BB 67400 form a series of diesel locomotives built in 232 examples for the SNCF by Brissonneau and Lotz ( BL) and Matériel de traction électrique (MTE). They were ordered on 6 January 1967, and the first was put into service on 14 August 1969 at the Chambéry depot.
These locomotives are suitable for running in multiple units (MU) with machines in the same series and in the 67300 series, as well as in reversible operation for passenger trains. They are derived from the BB 67000.
