This Märklin réduit (référence 88806) is a beautiful Z-scale reproduction of a diesel locomotive running on the German rail network. The original is a diesel-hydraulic locomotive of the 218 series. It is one of a series of diesel locomotives ordered 411 by the German railways from 1968 to 1979. At the time, the aim was to serve the unregulated lines of the German rail network, as the steam locomotives were rarely used. They are used to pull regional and freight trains in all the regions of federal Germany. In this case, it's the traffic blue livery of Press, a company specialising in thetransport of goods in the Free State of Saxony. It dates from 2022.
