This miniature locomotive from Märklin is a very realistic reproduction of a locomotive from the Austrian state-owned railway company ÖBB. It is listed as number 39992 in the manufacturer's catalogue. The original is an electric locomotive of the 1020 series in service in Austria during the III period, i.e. between 1946 and 1970. It is a new delivery of a DRG E 94 electric locomotive manufactured in Germany in 1940 to pull heavy goods trains. After the Second World War, Austria bought 44 of these rail vehicles. Not all of them were in working order at the time. In 1954, they returned to service under the name 1020. This model replicates one of these locomotives as it operated around 1955. Its registration number was 1020.27.
