A little touch of history :
The BB 25200 series locomotives were designed by the SNCF as multi-current locomotives to provide high-end service for express trains.
They were polyvalent, capable of operating on 1.5 kV direct current as well as 25 kV 50 Hz alternating current electrified networks.
With a maximum speed of 160 km/h, they outperformed their BB 9200 and BB 16000 series counterparts.Used in particular on the prestigious "Mistral" trains linking Paristo Nicevia Marseille, these locomotives sported a distinctive metal plate at the front.
