The little touch of history:
The DR (Deutsche Reichsbahn) locomotive V 180 was the largest diesel series ever built to date in the GDR. The original model had just 4 axles (including 2 2-axle bogies). The 6-axle version is still considered a masterpiece today, as it offered a low axle load (15.6 t). This meant that these locomotives could be selected for universal use.
Presentation of the manufacturer Fleischmann:
The Fleischmann brand of model railways originated in Germany and was founded in 1887 by Jean Fleischmann. But it was in 1949 that the company created its first model train, which was designed in O: 1/45th scale. The company was subsequently acquired by Modelleisenbahn GmbH in 2008.
In 2017, Fleischmann decided to specialise in the design of model railway products in N: 1/160th scale. From now on, the production of HO: 1/87th scale equipment is reserved for the Roco brand, which currently belongs to the same group.
Like the Roco brand, the brand is characterised by their attention to detail, and the robustness of their products, which are designed from metallic materials. The brand also offers railway accessories (spare parts, tyres, couplings, etc.) and digital modules (analogue controller, digital control unit, digital remote control, etc.).
