Presentation of the Steam Locomotive
Built between 1913 and 1920 in France and Great Britain, the 140 Cs are legendary machines that ran on the French network in the East and West regions. The 140 C 38 was one of the last steam engines to run in commercial service in France, in 1975. Their tenders could carry 18 m3 of water and 5 tonnes of coal. Depending on the era and the region to which they were assigned, they were painted in a variety of colours, ranging from solid black to black with a green boiler and polished brass hoops. In addition, red or yellow fillets change the overall appearance of the machine: these are variations offered by JOUEF.
