This miniature train from Roco (réf. 70030) is a réplique très fine of the express 03 1050 steam locomotive. It represents the state of service of this machine around 1957. At the time, it was operated by the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB), the national railway company of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) - it disappeared with the reunification.
The first locomotive of the 03.10 series was built in December 1938 by Borsig, a German mechanical engineering company. Of the 60 machines manufactured before the Second World War, 45 were still in operation after the conflict. They were then bought by Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB), who used them to pull express trains. Due to premature wear and tear, they were given a facelift in 1957, when they were fitted with a new, fully welded, high-efficiency boiler.
