A little history:
From 1928 to 1943, almost all German locomotive factories delivered a total of 775 machines in this series to the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft. In the early 1950s, 164 class 86 locomotives were still available in the GDR. In 1970, 162 machines were given a computer-compatible operating number, and they were phased out from 1973.
