History of the TGV Atlantique:
The TGV Atlantique are TGV electric trainsets belonging to the SNCF company put into service from 1989, with the capacity to reach speeds of 300 km/h!
During this 2nd generation of TGVs, 105 trainsets were built between 1988 and 1992. For this second generation, 2 major improvements were introduced: the power cars were more streamlined and there were more of them (10 instead of 8).
Compared with the TGV Paris Sud-Est (PSE), these TGVs delivered between 6459 and 8800 kW.
In 1990, this Atlantique train set a new world speed record of over 515 km/h!
