History of the TGV Sud-Est:
The TGV Sud-Est also known as the TGV PSE (Paris Sud Est) was the 1st generation of TGVs for the SNCF company. This emblematic model is recognisable by its orange livery.
The first trainsets were built in 1978 and put into service from 1980 (after a test campaign), to operate the Paris-Lyon TGV. The last trainsets to leave the factory were in 1986.
For the record, trainset no. 16, nicknamed "Patrick", set a world speed record by reaching 380 km/h on 26 February 1980.
