History of the Postal TGV:
Postal TGVs were high-speed railcars in the colours of the French Post Office, recognisable thanks to their yellow livery. These trains ran at night to carry part of the mail and parcels between Paris, Mâcon and Cavaillon. These models were built at the same time as the TGV Sud-Est family to be brought into service in 1984.
Originally these TGVs were made up of 5 half trainsets, later this convoy was increased by one trainset to convert a passenger trainset from the TGV Sud-Est fleet.
Given the continuing decline in mail traffic and road competition, La Poste decided to end their operation in 2015.
Their last commercial run was on Saturday 27 June 2015.
