This reduced model from REE Modèles (ref. MB183) is a beautiful replica of anelectric locomotive from the 16000 series. This rolling stock was operated by the SNCF in the second half of the 20th century on the North-East network. In 1970, several examples registered from 16009 to 16024 and 16052 to 16062 were assigned to the La Chapelle depot, located near the Paris-Nord station. This one is number 16024. This quality miniature locomotive is made up of more than 330 metal parts. It perfectly reproduces the general line of this machine, thanks in particular to its metal structure and ABS plastic casing. This locomotive is designed to operate on a miniature rail network in HO scale.
The BB 1600 series refers to a set of 62 electric locomotives from the SNCF, numbered from 16001 to 16062. Delivered in the early 1960s by the companies MTE and Jeumont, they were fitted with bogies designed by the engineer Jacquemin. All the axles on these machines are powered. Thanks to their total adhesion and their four motors, each rated at 1050 volts DC, they reached speeds of 240 km/h on test benches designed to test the strength of MA 11 single-leg pantographs. Their speed in service was limited to 160 km/h.
