The German-born railway modelling brand, Fleischmann was founded in 1887 by Jean Fleischmann. But it was in 1949 that the company created its first model train, which was built on an O:1/45 scale. The company was subsequently acquired by Modelleisenbahn GmbH in 2008.
In 2017, Fleischmann decided to specialise in the design of products based on the N: 1/160 scale railway model. Henceforth, the production of HO: 1/87 scale equipment will be carried out under the Roco brand, which currently belongs to the same group.
